Mrs. Gertrude Olutekunbi

Company Secretary and Legal  Adviser

Gertrude obtained a BA in English and Literary Studies from University of Calabar in 1987. She holds an LLB Hons Degree from University of Ibadan (1991) and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1992. She started her legal career in the law firm of Chief Idowu Sofola & Co. SAN, in 1993. At the Law firm, she was exposed to diverse aspects of the law. She also worked at Deborah Alade Chambers between 1993 and 2005.

She joined the legal department of the former Universal Trust Bank (UTB) in 2005 as an assistant to the company secretary covering Directors’ meetings. As a result of the acquisition of UTB by Union Bank in 2006, she became a staff of the legal department of Union Bank, where she equally had the privilege of handling all legal transactions from various branches till March, 2014.

She joined LASACO Assurance Plc. in May, 2014 as Senior Manager (Company Secretariat). In 2015, she was promoted to the position of Principal Manager and was assigned responsibilities which cover, Human Resources Administration in addition to the Legal Department of the Company till February, 2017. She was appointed Acting Company Secretary in May 2015 and Company Secretary in April, 2016. She is hardworking, versatile and has attended courses locally and internationally.
She is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
